When preparing to purchase one of our sheds, make a list
of all of the items and pieces that you want to store in
your shed. Then measure the largest items, this information
will be helpful to your Keystone Shed Works sales representative,
so that he/she can make sure you have the right shed for
your needs.
- As you are working through the planning stage for your
Keystone Shed Works shed, think about customizing the interior
of the shed so that it works for you long after construction
is completed.
- Interior options you may want to consider:
- A Ramp – particularly if you will be storing
a riding lawn mower, wheelbarrow, or bicycle.
- Extra Wide Doorways (double doors or sliding doors) – these
are extremely useful when driving in riding lawn mowers,
garden tillers, and snow blowers.
- Adjustable, Wall Mounted Shelves – for organizing
your tools and supplies.
- Built-In Work Benches or Planting Benches – are
great for potting plants and woodworking.
- Pegboard for hanging tools on the walls neatly.
- A cupola or weathervane – is perfect on
our larger sheds, when you want to add some country style
and elegance to your Keystone Shed Works Shed.
- You can customize your shed’s design…take
a look at our portfolio or getting started page for
some of the creative ideas that our customers have come
up with to make their shed unique. Or simply ask your
Keystone Shed Works sales representative about options
you’d like to add to your shed and
he or she will be happy to see if we can make it happen
for you. We are always looking for new ways to service
our customers better and your suggestions are appreciated!
- Leave at least 3 feet of open space around all sides
of the shed. So that fresh air can circulate freely and
so that you’ll have enough room to paint and make
repairs.
- If you happen to be positioning your shed on a slightly
sloping plot of land, place the front of the shed (the
side with the primary door) on the high side of the slope.
That way, the land will slope down toward the rear of the
shed and the slanting grade won’t appear so obvious.
- It is never a good idea to position your shed at the
bottom of a hill or in a low-lying area where water collects.
